Montegra has a long history of working with banks to benefit both the bank and its clients. On numerous occasions, using our asset-based underwriting approach Montegra has been able to re-finance loans for bank borrowers whose loans are approaching default and which may become classified. We also work with banks when they have spec home builders whose completed house has not sold and the bank would like to have them pay off their construction loan. Because of our 37-year history of professional treatment of or borrowers, banks are not concerned about recommending Montegra to their clients ahead of other hard money lenders.

We are also work closely with banks and bankers to fund loans for bank clients that can not meet banks credit standards. Instead of the bank “just saying no” to their prospective clients, they are able to refer them to Montegra who may be able to fund loans that did not meet bank standards. Then, when certain credit or cash flow issues are solved, these clients are happy and willing to return to the bank to pay off Montegra’s loan.

Relationships with banks are very important to us. We believe that relationships need to be a two way street. We maintain large cash deposits in money market accounts and can set up depository relationships with banks that are able to refer borrowers to us. We also refer loan types that we can not do, such as construction loans, to banks that we know. Although other hard money lenders are soliciting your business, we believe that Montegra’s “two way street” relationship makes sense for bankers.
